The Rainbow Colored Revolt On Reality

There was a moment when I was deployed in Iraq, where I lost the ability to smell my own odor. I had lived in the filth of showerless sweating, in the same week old BDU's for so long, I could not tell how nasty I had become. This is what is happening in our culture today. Our civilization has become so accustomed to its own rebellion that it has lost the ability to recognize its filthiness. It began calling darkness light and light darkness. It celebrated what should be mourned and mocked what should be honored. And in so doing, it has become so intoxicated with its own slogans that it can no longer see the cliff toward which it is marching. This is where we are living right now.

And this is important to understand, because the impulse underneath all of it is not self-autonomy, authentic personhood, and the protest against victimization. The real root underneath it all is a hatred of God and a desire to undo the distinctions He has placed upon His world. A world I might add that He alone created and has all authority to dictate how it is experienced.

With that, what makes this movement so uniquely dangerous is not simply the sins it celebrates but the categories it seeks to destroy. Every civilization contains sinners. Every age contains rebels. The difference is that most rebels merely break rules. This movement seeks to erase the rulebook. It does not merely cross boundaries. It seeks to abolish boundaries altogether. It does not merely reject God's design. It seeks to dismantle the very concept of a design.

But this is not the way our God establishes reality. For instance, the God of Genesis creates the world by separating and dividing. Light is separated from darkness. Day is separated from night. Heaven is separated from earth. Land is separated from sea. Man is separated from beasts. Male is separated from female. Creation itself is built upon distinction.

The modern revolutionary, however, looks at those distinctions and sees them as obstacles to overcome. The categories God established are treated as hurdles to leap over rather than gifts to be received. The result is a glitter filled rebellion against the architecture of reality.

This is also why the movement will not stop until it is destroyed. It cannot ever be a peaceful side quest that a few "love is love" types travel alongside the primary path of what is good and decent and normal. Once distinctions become oppressive, every distinction eventually comes under attack. If male and female can be erased, why not mother and father? If mother and father can be erased, why not marriage itself? If marriage can be erased, why not the family? If truth can be exchanged for personal truth, why not reality itself? The revolution possesses no natural stopping point because it is fueled by the endless appetite for human autonomy.

The pattern becomes visible everywhere the revolution tramples. Sodomy tears down the reality of normal sexuality by treating two men who use their waste organs as sex organs. Lesbianism reaches the same destination but with two innies instead of outies. Gender fluidity tears down the distinction of what it even means to be male and female as social constructs one may discard like a polluted diaper. The furry phenomenon so blurs the distinction between man and beast it encourages children to go to the bathroom in litter boxes as a pathway to them reclaiming mental health. Drag queens so definitively tear down the distinction of masculine and feminine beauty that they revoltingly twerk in front of toddlers as if what they were doing is lovely. Pardon me while I vomit.

Even the growing attempts to normalize pedophilia represent a full frontal assault upon one of the most sacred distinctions in civilization: the distinction between adults who protect children and predators who rape, peddle, and exploit them. The examples may differ, but the trajectory between sodomy, beastiality, and pedophilia all arise from the same toilet. Once the God ordained boundaries fall, then another, and another, and another. Once distinction is declared oppressive, then all distinctions must go. The target is never merely a particular rule. The target is the very existence of God-given distinctions themselves.

The tragedy is that the revolutionaries imagine themselves liberators while behaving like demolition crews. They inherited a cathedral that Spirit filled Christians handed them and they took a wrecking ball to the foundation. They inherited a garden and immediately began uprooting its trees. They inherited a cosmos ordered by divine wisdom and responded by taking a hacksaw to its foundations. Then, standing amidst the rubble, they congratulate themselves on their progress.

This is why the movement increasingly resembles a carnival of chaos. The distinctions that once gave life coherence are treated as arbitrary. The categories that once made civilization possible are treated as instruments of oppression. The result is confusion masquerading as enlightenment. It is disorder marketed as liberation. It is carnality parading around in the drag of compassion.

That is why this movement cannot ultimately be understood as a sexual revolution. It must be seen as a conquest against the cosmos itself. It is an attempt to replace God's distinctions with human desires, God's wisdom with human imagination, and God's reality with human fantasy. It is not merely a war against Christianity. It is a war against creation.

The deepest danger of the Pride movement, therefore, is not merely that it promotes what Christians regard as sinful. The deeper danger is that it teaches an entire generation to distrust its creator. It trains people to view limits as enemies, distinctions as oppressions, and reality as raw material to be reconstructed according to our new enlightened opinions.

The rainbow-colored revolt upon reality promises liberation, but every rebellion against creation eventually becomes a rebellion against the creature himself. The world God made is not our enemy. It is our home. The distinctions God established are not prison bars. They are load-bearing walls. They hold up the roof over our heads. Tear them down and the house does not become freer. It collapses. That is why this movement must be opposed, not merely because it violates Christian morality, but because it wages war against the very architecture of reality itself. And every war against reality ends the same way: reality wins.
